commemorative coin

The production process of commemorative coins usually includes the following:
Mirror finish: By polishing the surface of the mold and blank, the coin surface is highly flat and smooth.
Sandblasting: Metal sand particles of different sizes are used to spray the selected pattern parts of the commemorative coin mold into a fine frosted surface to enhance the layering and three-dimensional sense of the coin pattern.
Concave carving: Using the principle of metal refraction, concave carving method is adopted on the relief of the coin surface to depict the black and white dual color of the fur of panda gold and silver coins.
Bimetallic: Two types of metal blanks are pre made and then die cast into shape using a mold. The metals are pressed together to ensure stable bonding, resulting in the same effect on the front and back of the coin.
Electroplating: According to the design and aesthetic requirements of commemorative coins, electroplating other metals on selected parts or all of the patterns on the coin surface.
Inlaying: Placing other metals on a metal ingot and stamping it into shape. In China, precious metal commemorative coins are mainly made of gold inlaid with silver or silver inlaid with gold.
Middle hole: According to the special aesthetic and design requirements of commemorative coins, a hole is formed in the middle of the coin surface by strong stamping during casting.
Alien: Adopting various shapes such as rectangular, fan-shaped, plum blossom shaped, polygonal, etc., for example, the commemorative silver coins of Ming and Qing fan paintings are fan-shaped coins.
Color: Combining traditional painting art with coinage techniques, using special printing plates to transfer four-color inks such as red, yellow, blue, and black onto the surface of precious metal commemorative coins.
Edge thread rolling: The method of casting characters on the edge thread by rolling the billet before casting or rolling after casting is adopted.
Invisible carving: a technique that uses computer programming to process two patterns and represent them on the two sides of a line, so that pattern a can be seen from a certain angle and pattern b can be seen from another angle.
Laser engraving: The density of laser engraved points is used to reflect the black, white, and gray in the sketch, thus basically reflecting the three-dimensional and layered sense of the picture on the same plane.
Miniature Text: Drawing inspiration from the printing technology of banknotes, high-precision processing equipment is used to carve very small but very clear text on molds.
Secret inscription: a technique borrowed from banknote printing, in which a symbol or shape with a certain special meaning but not easily noticeable is engraved in a special position of the commemorative coin pattern, as a basis for experts to distinguish authenticity.
Oblique wire teeth: To change straight wire teeth to oblique wire teeth, the mold ring of the oblique wire teeth must be placed in a dedicated device. After the product is pressed, it can be demolded by rotating it at a certain angle, which increases the difficulty of processing and makes it difficult for counterfeiters to forge.
Punching: Using pressed gold and silver coins, then punching the square hole in the middle, replacing the ancient method of coin casting, to imitate ancient square hole coins.
Vulcanization for aging: The surface of the pressed silver coin is treated with sulfurization, and then the black on the high relief is wiped off to give it a strong artistic effect of ancient silver relief.
Partial gold plating: After the silver coin is embossed, a gold plating treatment is applied to a specific area of the pattern.
Color transfer printing: Using special printing plates, red, yellow, blue, and black inks are transferred onto the surface of precious metal products. It can not only transfer the entire pattern, but also perform partial transfer printing, combining three-dimensional relief and flat printing on the pattern of coins, breaking the limitation of single color for gold and silver commemorative coins, making the colors of commemorative coins colorful and dazzling.
